What to do when you need to claim on your insurance

It is important that you immediately report an accident to your insurer and/or the Kerry London claims team even if your own vehicle has not sustained damage.

When reporting a claim please provide as much information as possible, including:

  • Details of the incident, including vehicle type, registration number, drivers name, incident date etc
  • Photos taken at the scene of all vehicles involved
  • Full contact details of third parties involved – full name and date of birth
  • Number of passengers in the third-party vehicle
  • The name and address of the employer, if the third party was driving a company vehicle
  • If the vehicles involved are driveable
  • Description of damage
  • Details of injuries
  • Details of any camera/video footage
  • Your view on liability

Next steps

We suggest that claims are notified to your insurer, notification details are found in your policy. Please also forward a copy of the claim notification to Kerry London.

Kerry London and/or your insurer will provide you with regular update. Your insurer will book your vehicle in with an approved repairer. A courtesy vehicle may be provided (if included within your policy).

You also have the option to book your vehicle in with a non-approved repairer, please however note that you will have to provide your insurer with an estimate together with images of all damaged areas with the number plate visible.

A desktop review or physical inspection will be carried out by an engineer appointed by your insurer.
It is important that if you use a non-approved garage that the garage does not proceed with the repair without your insurer’s authorisation.

If you have not been responsible for causing the accident your insurer will pursue subrogation against the third-party insurers (inclusive of your policy excess).
