Liability – Employer and Third Party Injury Claims

Your liability policy is designed to cover claims for employees and third parties injured at work and or on your business premises. It is very important to report any claims immediately after the incident, even before the injured party has formally made a claim against you.

Please provide as much information as possible when reporting a claim to help speed up the claims process. Insurers will generally ask for the following information:

  • A detailed summary of the circumstances surrounding the incident
  • Date and time of the incident
  • Injured party details
  • Description of injuries and/or any known losses available at the time (this may include loss of earnings)
  • Any relevant background information
  • CCTV footage or photos
  • Witness statements

After your claim has been reported, insurers may also request the following information:

  • RIDDOR form
  • Wage details
  • Training records
  • Maintenance and inspection reports
  • Occupational health records
